At the end of the day, we are all the directors of our own reality TV shows. For all of us, success may be connected to our own creativity and perseverance. We at Drone Combat set out with a Hollywood-esque vision in mind.
Our goal: incorporate “Top Gun”-style gritty aerial dogfighting with tech-savvy, cutting edge, drone racing that jumps onto the screen of your favorite FPS video game and becomes a winner-take-all battle.
Like a good mystery writer, we started with the ending and reverse engineered our concept. We put together an ambitious show trailer filmed in both Eastern Europe (Budapest) and Mexico (Mexico City). This was done with drone racing teams and real pilots. Even though the concept was ahead of our scope, the reality was in our grasp. Most of our footage was shot in the desert in Mexico City. The main host and the attack team segments, though, were shot at an airfield and in a hangar just outside of Budapest. (We figured finding abandoned airport hangars in the Mexican desert was best left to the narcos.)
Now comes the tricky part: developing the tech and running a series of testing events to chase our own concepts. Luckily, we have skilled drone pilots in the USA, Hungary, and Mexico coming along on this bold journey. Join us as we take you to some crazy locations in beautiful cities around the globe, while moving ever closer to our ultimate reality game “Drone Combat”. Ultimately, DC will appeal to all of us, from its tech nerd back-end to the war porn reality of the game in full swing. Remember, it’s all fun and games ’til someone loses an eye…then it’s still fun and games, you just can’t see them so well…
